Garri & Eru – The Lovebirds of the African Table
Once upon a spicy time in the heart of a lively West African village, there lived a young drummer and a beautiful dancer. Legend has it, their eyes first locked over a steaming plate of Garri and Eru at a bustling food stall during the festival of flavors. One bite turned into many, laughter echoed, and just like that—love was served.
At Tropical Finger Licking Restaurant, we bring that same magic to your plate. Our Garri & Eru is a celebration of bold flavors and hearty tradition. The Eru leaves (also known as Okazi or Afang) are gently shredded and slow-cooked with a rich blend of smoked fish, meat, crayfish, and fiery spices—infused with a generous swirl of palm oil for that signature depth. It’s paired perfectly with smooth, golden Garri (cassava flour dough), made just the right way—light, stretchy, and ready to scoop up every delicious bite.
Whether you’re sharing with a soulmate or flying solo, this dish will leave your heart (and belly) full. It’s African soul food at its finest—with a sprinkle of romance and a whole lot of flavor. 💛🌍🍲
